I have worn many hats, including national advertising model, television cooking show host, farmers market founder, avid gardener, lifelong home cook, mother, and grandmother. Along the way, I learned that the best stories often begin in ordinary places.
"Miss MJ" was the spark. Hope began calling me Miss MJ during the summer we were neighbors, and the name stayed with me. It triggered my imagination, became a character, and opened the door to a series inspired by real people, places, friendships, and discoveries, beginning at the Tulsa Farmers’ Market.
I write joyful stories rooted in real places and everyday moments. Each one invites children and the lucky grown-up reading beside them to slow down, look a little closer, and discover the wonder hiding in plain sight.
